The Reopening of Sport Facilities to the Public

Owing to the effect of the Typhoon Hato, the sport facilities under the Public Sports Facilities Network of the Sports Bureau were damaged to different extent, some of the sports facilities were gradually reopened to the public from August 29.

After the repairs, Sports Ground at Veng Neng (Football field) will be reopened to the public from 6 October (Friday).  For more information on the reopening of the facilities, please refer to the attached document.

Some sports facilities that have been seriously damaged, like the Lin Fong Sports Center (Indoor Swimming Pool)which is located in the lower areas of Macau, its water treatment engine room was submerged during the typhoon and is currently undergoing purchase procedures for repairs, and upon installation and verification of the equipment, the Pool will be reopened to the public.  In addition, due to the danger with some glass objects from the building next to the Estoril swimming pool, the Pool will be reopened to the public after repair and cleaning has been completed and inspection of the water quality has been carried out by respective department.  The Sports Bureau will endeavor to reopen the Estoril Swimming Pool with its best efforts  in next week, and the exact date of reopening will be announced in due course.
