The knockout stage of the ITTF Men's and Women's World Cup Macao 2025 presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group, sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), organized by the Sports Bureau, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and World Table Tennis Management Group Limited (WTMG), and co-organized by the Macau Table Tennis General Association, continued today (18 April) at the Galaxy Arena. All semi-final berths have been confirmed after today’s quarterfinals.

The Men’s World Cup quarterfinals kicked off with an exciting match between China’s Liang Jingkun and Slovenia’s Darko Jorgic, and Liang Jingkun clinched a 4-2 victory to secure a place in the semifinals. Later in the morning, China’s Wang Chuqin went head-to-head with Germany’s Benedikt Duda in one of the most closely fought matches of the day. The two traded games in a seesaw battle that left them deadlocked at 3-3. In a tense decider, Wang Chuqin kept his composure under pressure, narrowly edging out Benedikt Duda 12-10 to secure his place in the semifinals. Lin Shidong delivered a 4-0 victory over Sweden's Truls Moregard to cruise into the semifinals, and Brazil's Hugo Calderano defeated Japan's Tomokazu Harimoto 4-1 to advance to the next round.

In the Women’s World Cup, Japan’s Mima Ito opened the day with a 4-2 win over compatriot Satsuki Odo, punching her ticket to the semifinals. Chinese players Chen Xingtong and Sun Yingsha both advanced with 4-1 triumphs over Brazil's Bruna Takahashi and Chinese Taipei's Cheng I-Ching, respectively. Kuai Man rallied from 0-2 down to defeat Wang Manyu 4-2 to secure her semi-final berths.

Tomorrow’s semi-final matches in the Men’s World Cup include Wang Chuqin vs Hugo Calderano from Brazil, Lin Shidong vs Liang Jingkun. The two semifinals in the Women’s World Cup are Kuai Man vs Japan’s Mima Ito, Sun Yingsha vs Chen Xingtong.

Tickets sales have received an overwhelming response from the public. The organizers are offering a small number of on-site tickets for matches, available on sale starting two hours before the first match starts on 19 to 20 April, at the Galaxy Arena. Only tickets for the same day are available and there are no advance sales. Each person is limited to two tickets per purchase, while they last.
