Co-organized by the Macao Sport Development Board and the Women’s General Association of Macao, the 2013 Macao Women’s Sports Carnival respectively had their Seminar of Sports and Cancer Prevention held at the Macao Tower on 23rd March and the Recreational and Sports Contest at Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion on 24th March. Women’s teams from Guangdong, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Xinhui were invited to join the events.
The Seminar of Sports and Cancer Prevention kicked off this year’s campaign. Women’s delegations from different countries conducted a discussion on the topics of “sports and cancer prevention, and anti-cancer”. More than 300 citizens attended the seminar, raised their questions and shared their opinions.
The Recreational and Sports Contest held at Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion divided its participants into two age groups, teams from each group had to complete the two rounds of recreational sports competition, and the team which scores the highest marks would become the winner. The invited women’s organizations from various regions also formed teams to participate in the activities. The overall atmosphere was joyful and cheerful. This year’s Carnival attracted the participation of 51 groups and nearly 70 competing teams, with the total number reaching some 5,700 participants.
