To strengthen the sport exchange between Beijing and the Macao SAR, the two governments held the second session of the “Beijing-Macao Co-operation Fair” on 10th July. With the witness of the Chief Executive, Dr. Chui Sai On, the Director General of the Beijing Sports Administration and the leader of the Beijing-Macao Sport Exchange Team, Mr. Li Yingchuan and the Acting President of the Macao Sport Development Board, Mr. José Tavares respectively represented the sport departments of the two cities signed the “Beijing-Macao Sports Exchange and Cooperation Agreement” – an agreement to deepen the mutual exchange and cooperation between the two cities in the field of sports development, hence to put complementary advantages and resource sharing into practice.
Under the implementation of the framework of the cooperation agreement, youth sport exchange visits will be conducted annually in order to build up the common exchange platform for sports activities, so that talents can be nurtured and the competitive sport levels of the two cities can be enhanced. Through the exchange activities, the sport departments aim to enable young people of the two cities deepen their mutual understandings towards the societies, cultures and lifestyles, so as to broaden horizons of the younger generation, foster their friendships and mutual promotions.
