Since the “Public Sports Facilities Network” (PSFN) was launched in 2006, the Macao Sport Development Board has met with the Macao University of Science and Technology, Macao Sam Yuk Middle School, Don Bosco Primary School, Macao Federation of Trade Unions, Macao Sun Kio Mutual Aid Association to incorporate their sports facilities into the PSFN in order to continuously expand the scope of sports facilities network so that more sports facilities distributed in different areas can be better utilized by the public.
To further expand the sporting space, previously the Macao Sport Development Board has been vigorously supported by the Women’s General Association of Macao and the Keng Peng School, both of which became partners of the PSFN, and for now there are already 23 venues available for public use. By adding more public facilities for sport exercises, the idea of Fitness-for-All will be better realized.
According to the cooperation plan, the Women’s General Association of Macao would open the lobby at the ground floor of its comprehensive services building located in Rua da Barca – which is open every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights from 6 pm to 10 pm – to the public for table tennis activities. The venue is open for use to individuals on the spot and service charge is MOP$10 per hour.
The Keng Peng School, also integrated its indoor basketball court – which is located at the Keng Peng Middle School in Avenida do Hipódromo – for public use during their after-school time. The public may make their group reservations for basketball activities via the school, the opening hours would be Monday to Saturday from 7 pm to 10 pm and Sunday morning from 9 am to 12 pm and 3 pm to 6 pm, service charge for which would be MOP$50 per hour.
The Macao Sport Development Board welcomes citizens utilize the two newly added sports facilities during the PSFN hours, at the meantime we will keep on searching for more opportunities to cooperate with qualified schools or associations for the expansion of sporting space so as to promote public participation in sports and a healthy lifestyle in their leisure time, hence to implement the Fitness-for-All idea of “Sports for All - Let’s Exercise for a Better Health”.
