To better regulate the relevant testing methods of physical fitness assessment for students, the Macao Sport Development Board and the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau jointly organized the Seminar on Physical Fitness Monitoring Indicators for Teaching Staff of Sports respectively on October 10 and 11. Teaching staff of sports from both primary and secondary schools in Macao attended the seminar and obtained a clear understanding on the relevant testing items, testing methods and additional information of the physical fitness assessment.
During the seminar, the organizers displayed relevant equipment, operating procedures and testing methods of the assessment, along with on-site demonstration, sharing and exchange. The organizers hope to enable teaching staff to master the essentials of the physical fitness assessment so that they may guide students to take the assessment in daily teaching. Not only can students be better clear about self-physical-condition, but they can also get to know their health problems in terms of weight, strength, cardiovascular endurance and flexibility, and hence teaching staff may start with corresponding sports training and sports interest cultivation to better help students develop a good habit of exercising.
A total of more than 60 teaching staff of sports participated in the two-day seminar.
