To raise public interests in Sports for All and to deepen the sports message in all social sectors, the Macao Sport Development Board organizes the “Sports for All Day” monthly in various recreational venues to encourage residents to actively exercise in sports activities and form a good habit in continuous fitness exercises. The activity attracted a large number of residents to attend.
This year’s first quarter of “Sports for All Day” took place respectively at Areia Preta Urban Park on January 18th, the recreational area at Rua do General Ivens Ferraz on February 22th and the leisure area between Wang Hoi and Wang Kin Buildings on March 15th. A total number of 8401 person-times joined the activities.
For on-site activities, we had the instructors and participants from the Sport for All fitness and recreational classes demonstrating a wide range of sports activities to allow the public to learn and have better knowledge of the various sports activities. Their tight moves and the accompanying light music attracted people to stop and watch their performance. Professional instructors from different sports general associations were also sent out to illustrate some sports movements and methods in proper ways, which included softball, hockey, Chinese chess, bowling, squash, jumping rope, table tennis and badminton, so that the residents were allowed to engage in the activities in person and deepen their knowledge towards different sports activities. From which the fun of sports were triggered and hence the public will further conduct sports exercises by themselves and strengthen their body resistance. Quite a number of residents fully took part in the activities including some parents accompanying their kids, wherein the bonds between parents and children were tied and a meaningful holiday was fulfilled. A lively atmosphere warmed up the plazas.
