The National Day Celebration - Sports and Art Extravaganza, hosted by the Macao SAR Government and organised by the Macao Sport Development Board, was held at 2:00pm on China's National Day (1st October) in the Macao East Asian Games Dome. Among the performers were local favourites and renowned singers Alan Tam, Hacken Lee, Joey Yung, C AllStar, Sherman Chung, Vincy Chan, Adason Lo, Jay Fung, Terence Chui, Sean Pang and Chita Yu, who added excitement to the event through their singing and dancing.
At 2:00pm that day, Macao singers Sean Pang, Chita Yu and Terence Chui kicked off the concert with melodious songs to warm up the event. The show's opening ceremony was officiated by Dr. Alexis Tam Chon Weng, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture; Xu Ting, Director-General of the Department of Culture and Education of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR; Zhang Jian, Head of the Division of General Affairs of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in MSAR; and José Tavares, President of the Macao Sport Development Board. After that, C AllStar, Vincy Chan, Adason Lo, Jay Fung and Sherman Chung presented a number of hit songs, leading up to the singing of familiar pieces by Hong Kong superstar Hacken Lee and Joey Yung, which lifted the spirts of the audience. Alan Tam gave the final magnificent performance that pushed their enthusiasm to the highest level.
Nearly 7,000 residents participated in the extravaganza, celebrating the 66th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Republic of China in an uproarious manner.
