The 24-people visiting delegation of Macau Sports Press Association (MSPA) under the leader Lao Io Kuong and deputy leader Fong Nim Seong, Pun Weng Kun, the President of Macao Sports Bureau, Zhang Donghui, the Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao S.A.R. visited Beijing and Harbin from 12th to 16th September. They paid an official visit to the General Administration of Sport of China and met with the officers from the Provincial Sport Bureau and inspected and learned from the Heilongjiang Broadcast and Television Station, ice sports trainings and competition field too. The visiting delegation got a deeper understanding of different kinds of ice sports and media ecology in Harbin, hoped to learn experience from the sports development in mainland to bring new insights to the sports circle in Macao.
Paid an Official Visit to General Administration of Sport of China
MSPA first arrived at the General Administration of Sport of China (GASC) in Beijing. They were well received by Gao Zhidan, the Vice Director of GASC, Tu Xiaodong, the Director of Publicity Department of GASC and Song Keqin, the Deputy Director of Liaison Department of GASC. In the meeting, Gao Zhidan mentioned the country's review on the athletes’ performance in the Rio Olympic Games and the future development goal in sports, saying that the Chinese Delegation had fully demonstrated fighting spirit but should be concerned about the decreasing numbers of gold medals, in particular, insufficient understanding of opponents in main sport matches should be addressed in future review and preparation.
The visiting delegation then went to Harbin to visit Heilongjiang Provincial Sports Bureau. The Deputy Director Li Feng summarized the general developing situation of ice sports in Heilongjiang. He stressed the most important task of the Bureau was to facilitate the establishment of talent bases and athletic trainings in order to prepare for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games in Beijing.
Visited Broadcast and Television Station and Ski Resort
The delegation visited the Heilongjiang Broadcast and Television Station and Yabuli Ski Resort for knowing more about the development of media and ice sports in Heilongjiang. Visiting the Heilongjiang Broadcast and Television Station, the delegation learned how to allow more audience to have access to information under the trend of new media, such as providing online subscription and connecting communication softwares etc. In Yabuli, the delegation visited the professional ski resort, farm homey inn, suitable for family tourism's water world and amusement park in the Yabuli Ski Resort which combined elements of sports and tourism, having more understanding of the importance of synergetic development between sports and tourism.
After the 5-day visit in the Northeast China, both the President of Macao Sport Bureau Pun Weng Kun and the Director of Macau Sports Press Association Fong Nim Seong proved the obvious achievements, and that it would benefit the sports exchange between Heilongjiang and Macao and serve as the reference for the sports development in Macao, especially when Macau is focusing on boosting local tourism industry at present. The visit provided more possibilities of coordinated development between Macau sports and tourism industries.
