The 6th TAFISA World Sport for All Games was held from the 6th to the 12th of October at Ancol Coast to the north of Jakarta, capital of Indonesia. As a member of the Association for International Sport for All (TAFISA), the Sports Bureau was invited to participate in the event. A delegation consisting of 33 members including Mr. Pun Weng Kun, the Director of the Sports Bureau, together with the Dragon Dance Team of the Wushu General Association of Macau, the Cycling General Association of Macau, China and the Macau Recreation & Sports Shuttlecock Association attended the opening ceremony on the 8th of October and offered performances of dragon dance, fancy cycling show and shuttlecock show from the 7th to the 9th of October, which were appreciated by the participants.
Being a quadrennial sporting event, the World Sport for All Games was founded in 1992 by the Association for International Sport for All (TAFISA). This year's event attracted over 6,000 guests from 81 countries or regions to participate, including academics, experts, engaged in Sport for All staff as well as athletes. During the event, the Macao delegation took the opportunity to meet with representatives from different regions and the local sports associations to disseminate and promote Macao's sports.
Through participation in the sporting event, the delegation aimed at disseminating and promoting Macao's sports more effectively in various regions of the world while enhancing their own understanding of the current information and the global trends in sports. At the same time, the delegation expected to enhance their contacts with other international organizations and develop friendship with them in order to raise the reputation of Macao in the World Sports and promote the Sport for All activities more actively and positively.
