Hosted by the Government of Macau Special Administrative Region and organized by the Sports Bureau, the 17th Anniversary of the Establishment of Macao SAR Sports and Arts Celebration was staged at the Stadium ofthe Olympic Sports Centre at 2 pm on 20th December. Hong Kong's A-list stars Leon Lai, Kelly Chen and a group of Macau singers performed for over 11,000 audiences to celebrate the anniversary in applause and cheers.

Adding sports elements to singing and dancing

Blending art and sports in the Sports and Arts Celebration, the organizer casted Macau Taekwondo Association, whose athletes performed the featured techniques of poomsae (pattern) and kyukpa (breaking),presenting an unusual marvel for audiences. The performance was kicked off by Macau singers Sean Peng, AJ, Josie Ho and Hyper Lo, who warmed up the crowd with a series of songs and dances, followed by Hong Kong singers Gin Lee, Phil Lam and Jason Chan, and the big finale featuring Kelly Chen and Leon Lai that brought the whole performance to a climax.

Before the show started, Mr. Pun Weng Kun, President of the Sports Bureau, Ms. Xu Ting, Director of the Department of Education and Culture of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao S.A.R, Mr. Lau Cho Un and Ms. Lam Lin Kio, Vice Presidents of the Sports Bureau, chaired the launching ceremony.
