The“Macau Women's Sports Festival”, which has been held for 16 consecutive years, was held on 16 and 17 March. This event was co-organized by the Sports Bureau and the Macau Women's General Association. Over 6,000 people were attracted to the event.
This event was divided into three parts. The first part“Display Session of Physical Exercises for Sport for All”began at 9:30 a.m. on 17 March in Senado Square. Several Women associations from Guam, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Chinese Taipei, Guangzhou, Dongguan, and Hong Kong, as well as the coaches and students from the Sport for All fitness interest class held by the Sports Bureau and the Macau Women's General Association, conducted performances demonstrating different types of sports. The atmosphere there was lively.
The second part entitled“Seminar on the Relation between Leisure Sports and Women's Health”was held at 2:30 p.m. on 17 March. Representatives of women associations from different places conducted studies and discussions, which 400 residents attended and participated in. The attendants actively expressed their opinions and asked questions.
The third part entitled“Leisure and Sports Competition Activities”was held at 9:00 a.m. on 18 March at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion. The activities were divided into Group A (18-40 years old) and Group B (41- 60 years old), based on participants' age. The activities attracted 58 organizations and 74 teams, accounting for more than 6,000 participants.
The awardees in different leisure and sports competitions are listed below:
(Group A) Champion: 2 teams from Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macao; First Runner-up: Public Security Police Force; Second Runner-up: Judiciary Police; (Group B) Champion: 2 teams from Macau Jiangmen Communal Society, First Runner-up: Women's General Association Happy Family Services Centre; Second Runner-up: Macao Flying Dragon Sports Association; (International women association invitation) Champion: Guam, First Runner-up: Chinese Taipei; Second Runner-up: Singapore; Most Active Participation Award: Health Bureau.
