“2018 Greater Bay Area Sports Forum” was held by the Sports Bureau at the Macau Fisherman's Wharf Convention and Exhibition Center on 6 January, in order to facilitate the communication in the city group of the Greater Bay Area. Over 30 executive officers in the sports area from the city group of the Greater Bay Area were invited to Macao to introduce the sports development in different areas, and to have discussion and exchange. President of the Sports Bureau Pun Weng Kun expected that in this forum, the complementary advantages and mutual information exchange in the Greater Bay Area could be facilitated, and different cities could seek for greater room for cooperation in terms of sports for all and competitive sports.
A number of executive officers from the sports administrations of the city group of the Greater Bay Area, which includes Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen, and Zhaoqing, among others, were invited to this forum. The forum aims to facilitate the exchange in the sports area in the city group in Greater Bay Area, and actualize the complementary advantages in sports resources between different regions, fully utilizing the abundant resources and the convenient transportation network in the Greater Bay Area to enhance the level of sports and exercise together.
The forum was hosted by President of Sports Bureau Pun Weng Kun and Director of Sports Bureau of Guangdong Province Wang Yuping. In the forum, each city representative introduced the sports development in the respective region one after another and shared its future working plan. Each city was engaged in discussions and presented its proposals. The concept of “Sharing, Building and Winning Together” will be implemented to help build the Greater Bay Area into a world-class urban city group and promote sports exchange and collaboration therein.
