The 2018 Macau International Dragon Boat Races was hosted by the Sports Bureau and the China-Macau Dragon Boat Association, and co-organized by the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau. The event took place over a three-day period at Nam Van Lake Nautical Centre from June 16 to 18. The final races took place on the Dragon Boat Festival (18th). The races included intense competitions such as the Macao International Dragon Boat Invitational Standard Dragon - 500 meters, the open category, the women's category, and the University Students Invitational Standard Dragon - 500 meters open category. After a series of races, China Nanhai Jiujiang defended the championship in both the open category and the women's category. Singapore Nanyang Technological University won the championship in the University Students Invitational Standard Dragon - 500 meters - open category.
In the final of the men's 500 meters open category China Nanhai Jiujiang, which was a popular team, lagged behind at the beginning of the race. SJM Golden Jubilee and the Macao team followed Jiujiang closely. In the final 100 meters-section China Nanhai Jiujiang, which was leading, finished the race in 1 minute 54 seconds 756 milliseconds and won the championship. SJM Golden Jubilee crossed the finishing line as second place in 1 minute 56 seconds 891milliseconds. The Macao team was awarded the third place with 1 minute 58 seconds 430 milliseconds.
In the women's final China Nanhai Jiujinag, which had been expected to win, remained invincible and won the championship with 2 minutes 05 seconds 364 milliseconds. The team has won the championship for seven consecutive years. The national team of Singapore won the first runner-up with 2 minutes 8 seconds 418 milliseconds. The third place was MGM with the result of 2 minutes 15 seconds 258 milliseconds. In the final race of the University Students Invitational Standard Dragon 500 meters open category Singapore Nanyang Technological University won the championship with the result of 2 minutes 01 second 835 milliseconds. The University of Macau and Tianjin Nankai University were awarded the second and the third place respectively.

The winning teams of the four events on the first day were decided successfully in the two-day period of the 16th and the 17th. SJM Golden Jubilee A won the championship in the Macao Small Dragon Boat Race - 200 meters - open category. The champion of the Macao Small Dragon Boat - 200 meters - women's category was awarded to SJM Lotus A. Public Security Police Force A was awarded the champion of the Macao Public Entities Small Dragon Boat - 200 meters. The champion of Macao University Students Invitational Small Dragon Boat Race - 200 meters - open category was awarded to University of Macau A. For the events on the second day, SJM Golden Jubilee defeated many strong teams in Standard Dragon Boat - 500 meters - open category and became the first team crossing the finishing line in 1 minute 57 seconds 597 milliseconds winning the championship. Galaxy Star and Shining Macao Youth Association won the second place and the third place respectively. The champion of women's category was won by Wynn with 2 minutes 11 seconds 818 milliseconds. The second place and the third place were MGM and the Association of Macao Youth Development respectively. In the Public Entities Staff Small Dragon Boat Invitational - 200 meters, the Marine and Water Affairs Bureau A won the championship with the result of 52 seconds 642 milliseconds. The Hong Kong Leisure and Cultural Services Department won the second place with 53 seconds 217 milliseconds. The third place was the Hong Kong Electrical and Mechanical Services Department.
