The Swimming Association of Macao, China dispatched a team to participate in the“FINA Diving Grand Prix Madrid 2018”competition, which was held by the International Swimming Federation and co-organized by the Spanish Swimming Association, from July 12 to 15.

The Macao diving athletes, Leong Sut Chan and Leong Sut In performed excellently in the women's double 10-meter platform event and won a bronze for Macao. In the same event, the Chinese national team and American team were awarded a gold and a silver respectively. The competition was hosted in Madrid, the capital city of Spain. The participating nations or regions, which included the hosting country, accounted for 20 teams and over 200 staff members and athletes. Among them, including teams known for their diving prowess, included China, the US, Canada, the UK, France, Italy, Japan, Malaysia and the host country Spain, participated in the event. 

Ng Sio Wan, an international referee from Macao who performed as the rating referee in the competition, stated that there were more participating teams and entrants in the competition this year, and the Macao diving team could take the chance to compete with contestants from other Asian countries before the Asian Games, so as to see what they should improve in order to enhance their competitiveness.
