The first round of the“Macao Sailing Series 2019 ”, sponsored by the Sports Bureau and hosted by the Macao Sailing Association, took place on March 10 at the sea area around Hac Sa Beach, Coloane. The champions in the six categories were successfully decided after a series of competitions. There were four rounds in total in the Sailing Series this year and each round is composed of 3 races, so in total there were 12 races. The other three rounds will take place on June 9, September 1 and December 1.

The races attracted 28 participants, with the youngest 9-year-old athlete. The categories of the races included: Optimist, Topper, Laser and Windsurfing. The rules of the races were based on the International Sailing Federation RRS 2017-2020, integrated with the race announcements, race guidance and rules of the events.
