The 2019 Asian Junior Squash Individual Championships, hosted by the Macao Squash Association, took place from June 26 to 30 at the Bowling Center and the squash court in the UM Sports Complex, attracting more than 217 Asian teenage squash players to compete in Macao.
In this year's championships, both men's and women's junior group (below the age of 19) received the most attention. Two Malaysian players won the champion in the women's junior group. The best player, Chan Yiwen, after losing one match, reversed the situation and finally defeated Azman Aifa Binti by 3:2, being the female champion in two consecutive years. In the final of the men's below-19 age group, two Indian players competed against each other. Veer, who was good at fighting in a protracted match, showed his strength in the decisive fifth match and defeated Yesh. He was therefore crowned the champion.
Macao sent 10 male and 6 female players to compete in the championships this year. Regrettably, they could not take advantage of being the home team. After two-day elimination rounds, Macao team stopped proceeding after the main draw.
