The“Macao International Kart Grand Prix 2019”, hosted by the Automobile General Association Macao-China and co-organized by the Sports Bureau and Macao GovernmentTourism Office, took place from December 5-8 in Coloane Karting Track. This year, around 160 car-racers coming from 21 countries and regions, including China, Australia, Canada, Chinese Taipei, Finland, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Portugal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom and Hong Kong and Macau, participated in this event. The finale“Macao Cup”was awarded to Simo Olavi Puhakka from Finland.
Among the five final races, the race for the Macao Cup attracted most attention. A total of 28 racers competed in a 25-lap race. Simo Olavi Puhakka from Finland and Vigano from Italy were leading at the beginning of the race and neither had a clear edge over the other. Eventually, Simo Olavi Puhakka won the champion title and the runner-up was Vigano. The second runner-up title went to Alessio. Leong Hon Chio from Macao ranked the 10th in the event.
