Organised by the Macao Sport Development Board, and co-organised by the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macao, the Macao Federation of Trades Union and the Women’s General Association of Macao, the 2010 Family Sports Day was held on 27th June at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion. The activity attracted nearly 600 teams comprising 2,400 participants.
The activity sought to encourage residents to actively participate in physical exercise in order to maintain a healthy body and enhance the quality of living and health. The Family Sports Day helped nurture children’s interest and habits regarding physical exercise and heightened their awareness of physical education and sports at a young age. The activity also enabled parents and children to deepen their mutual understanding and communication, while establishing a closer relationship and co-operative spirit. The activity was imbued with a warm and lively atmosphere.
Guests attending the activity included President of the Macao Sport Development Board, Vong Iao Lek, Deputy Director of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macao, Choi Tat Meng, Deputy Director of the Macao Federation of Trades Union, Lei Chi Hong, Director of the Women’s General Association of Macao, Chio Ngan Ieng, Vice Presidents of the Macao Sport Development Board, José Tavares and Pun Weng Kun, Deputy Director of the Women’s General Association of Macao, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Head of the Division of Recreation and Sports of the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Chan Hao Weng, and Sports Council member, António Fernandes, Chang Chin Nam, Chung Hon Kun, Lam Fat Meng, Lou Kit Long, António Adriano da Silva Aguiar, Domingos Chan e Sra. Lam Un Mui. They jointly presided over the opening ceremony and presented awards to the winning teams.
