At the invitation of Singapore Sports Council (SSC), the Macao Sport Development Board organized a delegation led by Vice President of the Board Pun Weng Kun to observe the 1st Youth Olympic Games in Singapore from 16th August to 19th August 2010, during which time they actively engaged in exchanges with the sports departments in Singapore.
The Macao delegation was warmly received by Singapore Sports Council and attended some of the competitions in the 1st Youth Olympic Games and met with senior sports officials. The meeting enabled the delegates to learn from the experience and models of sports development in Singapore in recent years, as well as understand the development of competitive sports, ‘sport for all’ and the sports industry. In addition, the delegation had an exchange meeting with the head of the Singapore Sports School in order to better understand the operation and management of the school, and visited sports injuries and rehabilitation treatment centres in Singapore plus community sports facilities.
The visit not only promoted communication in the sports area between Macao and Singapore but played a positive role in sports exchange and the long-term development of the sports industries in both regions.
