So as to celebrate the 12^th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR, the Macao SAR Government organized and the Macao Sport Development Board carried out the “Sports and Cultural Performances Celebrating the 12^th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Macao SAR” at the stadium of the Macao Olympic Sports Centre on December 20^th. Famous Hong Kong bands Grasshopper and Big Four were invited to Macao along with singer-songwriter Hins Cheung, Hong Kong duo Sugar Club and local singer Pang Veng Sam to perform on stage. The event attracted altogether about 11,000 spectators.

The Chief Executive of the Macao SAR, Dr. Fernando Chui Sai On, the Deputy Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in the Macao SAR, Mr. Zhang Jinfeng, the Deputy Head of the Culture and Education Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR, Mr. Li Zhengqiao, the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, Mr. Cheong U, the Chief of Office of the Office of the Chief Executive, Mr. Tam Chon Weng, the President of Macao Sport Development Board, Mr. Vong Iao Lek, along with other public officials, presided over the Opening ceremony and enjoyed the exciting performances with the audience.

The “Sports and Cultural Performances” kicked off with songs by local singer Pang Veng Sam and Sugar Club. With hours of exciting performances by Hong Kong bands Big Four and Grasshopper, singer-songwriter Hins Cheung, and the efforts of the dancers, the audience thoroughly enjoyed the performances provided by the evening’s events. Cheers could be heard everywhere, making for a wonderful atmosphere.
