In accordance with the with the S.A.R. Government’s policy objective of providing diversified youth services, the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ) and the Macao Sport Development Board jointly held the 2012 Summer Activities between July and August.
This year, in the area of sport activities, a total of 102 sports providing a total of 21,539 places were available for youngsters to participate in. Out of which, 6 activities were organized for the first time, including Aikido, rollerblading, cycling tour for parents and children (Zhongshan) and specially designed classes for people with mental deficiencies, which included table tennis, rhythmic gymnastics, and Taekwondo. These activities gave young people the opportunity to try a wide range of sports during the summer months.
As in the past, this wide variety of sports activities allows young people to use their time wisely in the summer holiday, to develop their potential, improve their physical fitness and establish regular exercising habits.
