Sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), hosted by the Badminton Federation of Macao, having the Macao Sport Development Board as the official sponsor and Kumpoo as its title sponsor, “The 2013 Kumpoo Macao Open Badminton Grand Prix Gold” was held at the Macao Forum for six consecutive days from November 26 to December 1, 2013. This competition makes Macao one of the stations of the international badminton points race, attracting a total of 300 athletes from 19 countries and regions including the People’s Republic of China, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia and Chinese Taipei to participate in the Grand Prix in Macao. A delegation of six male athletes and four female athletes represented Macao. They competed in all five events respectively – men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.
