To promote the substainable development of football sport in Macao and systematically cultivate the youth football players, and to enrich the youths’ participation in extracurricular activities, the Macao Sport Development Board and the Macao Football Association – with the sponsorship of the Macao Jockey Club – jointly organized the Recruitment and Selection Day for Macao Youth Academy on December 1, attracted more than 600 youths and their parents to participate in a lively atmosphere.

There are a total of five classes in the Macao Youth Football Academy, including Men’s A, B, C and D group and Women’s group. The organizers hope to recruit potential youths to join the Academy through the Selection Day so that local football talents can hence be cultivated. The participants were divided into several groups on the Selection Day to conduct certain tests, which included dribbling, passing, reaction and competitions so that the coach teams could evaluate and select qualified ones for the Academy according to their performances.

The activity was attended by the Acting President of the Macao Sport Development Board Mr. José Tavares, the President of the Macao Football Association Board Mr. Chong Coc Veng and the Chief Executive of Macao Jockey Club Mr. Li Chu Kwan, wherein the guests encouraged the youth participants.
