Since 2003, the “Sports Competition of Public Entities” (The Public Entities Sports Festival) has been jointly organized by the Macau Sport Development Board and the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau (SAFP). Public entities staff were encouraged to form a habit of regular exercises through participating in sports activities, with the aim to improve the quality of life. Meanwhile, team spirit was nurtured during the event as well as the friendship between staff from one sector and another. Hence staff from public entities would provide better services to the community and collaboratively build a society of harmony and vitality. The festival included a wide range of sports competitions and recreational activities, all of which were well-received by staff, evidently, the number of participants has increased year by year.
The event was held from May to July, activities such as 7-a-side men’s football, basketball, table tennis, badminton, squash, tennis, bowling, swimming, track & field and dragon boat were organized, plus three recreational activities.
Started in May, the activities have lasted for two months in intense atmosphere, winners of each game were reported one after another. On July 6th, recreational activities were conducted at the Indoor Pavilion of Olympics Sports Centre. Various public entities sent out their representives to attend the games, while participants fully performed their team spirits and friendships during the competitions. The intensity and bustling of the games cheered up the audience onsite. Award ceremony was held after the activities had finished, and the “Energy Award” winner went to the Judiciary Police.
