The 2014 Autumn Cycling Tour organised by the Macao Cycling Association, and sponsored by the Macau Sport Development Board was held on 22nd and 23rd November. This cycling tour was open to family participants, through which the organiser hoped to provide more opportunities for families to join and promote harmonious relationships between parents and children.
The destination of the tour was Huizhou City, Guangdong Province. At 8:30am on 22nd November, all participants assembled at Dr. Sun Yat Sen Municipal Park and headed to Huizhou via the Border Gate.
The Greenway around Honghua Lake, at a total length of about 28 km, is located in the Honghuahu Scenic Area of West Lake Scenic Attraction Area, which boasts a magnificent environment and inviting scenery. The greenway with multiple functions of sports, sightseeing and leisure is a well-equipped countryside greenway featuring natural landscape and pastoral beauty, accessed by different attractions near mountains and rivers. The first day of the tour witnessed fair weather. With luxuriant trees along the two sides, the group enjoyed the fun of bicycling while admiring the tremendous views of mountains and lake.
The next day, the group headed to the greenway in Luofu Mountain National Scenic Area in Huizhou City. On the way, towering mountains, flowing water and shady trees plus the enchanting panoramic view of Mount Luofu served as a feast for the eyes. Participants admired the beautiful scenery.
