Organised by the Macao Sport Development Board and co-organised by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ), the General Union of Neighbourhood Association of Macao, the Macao Federation of Trade Unions and the Women’s General Association of Macao, the ‘2015 Family Sports Day’ was held at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion on June 28. The event sought to encourage residents to actively participate in sports and maintain a healthy lifestyle, nurture young people’s interest in sport, strengthen parent-child bonds and establish a close-knit family relationship and spirit of teamwork.
Around 3000 person-times participated in the event on that day. Parents partnered their children in various recreational and sports competitions. The scene was filled with parental love, and a lively and convivial atmosphere. Activities were divided into three age groups: Group A (aged 7-10), Group B (aged 4-6) and Group C (aged 2-3). Each group competed in two recreational and sports activities for the first, second and third prizes, as well as six merit awards. Meanwhile, the game booths and live shows also made this a healthy and enjoyable event for families.
The opening ceremony was presided over by the Acting President of Macao Sport Development Board, Mr. Pun Weng Kun; Director of DSEJ, Ms.Leong Lai; Vice President of General Union of Neighbourhood Association of Macao, Mr. Choi Tat Meng; Vice President of Macao Federation of Trade Unions, Mr. Un Oi Mou; President of Women’s General Association of Macao, Ms.Lam Un Mui; Vice President of Macau Sport Development Board, Mr. Lau Cho Un; representative of the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Ms. Wong Iok Chu; and other members from the Sports Committee. The guests also presented trophies to the winning teams.
