Hosted by the Macao Sport Development Board at various locations every month, ‘Sports for All Day’ serves to elevate residents’ interest in sports, disseminate the important message of Sport for All among all social classes and the community, promote residents’ participation in sports and cultivate the good habit of regular exercise. Residents are attracted to attend the event in large numbers.
In the third quarter of this year, the Sport for All Day event was held at Areia Preta Park on 18th July, at Tap Seac Square on 15th August, and at Jardim do Mercado Iao Hon on 19th September, and was enthusiastically received.
Instructors and students of Sport for All Fitness and Recreational Class demonstrated skills in various sport activities on site to deepen residents’ understanding of these activities. They presented the gestures in an organised fashion amid brisk harmony, arousing residents’ attention.
A number of recreational and sports activities such as table tennis, squash, rope skipping, croquet, chess, hockey, badminton and shuttlecock, were available on site, where professional personnel assigned by relevant sports associations were present at each booth to instruct correct movements and methods to play the sports in order to deepen residents’ knowledge of and boost their enthusiasm in sports through participation. In so doing, they could conduct physical activities in a better way to enhance immunity. Residents were ardently engaged in the event. In particular, some parents joined the event with their children to promote family relationships in a warm and convivial atmosphere.
