The Sports Bureau has signed the Sport for All Cooperation Agreement together with General Union of Neighborhood Associations of Macao, Macao Federation of Trade Unions, and the Women's General Association of Macao, to continue its cooperation with these three civil societies in promoting and developing sports for all, so that citizens of various classes will have more access to sports, improve physical fitness, and form a healthy life style of “lifelong sports”.
Cooperation Agreement for Six Consecutive Years
The Agreement's signing ceremony was held in the Olympic Sports Center on February 17th. The then President of Sports Bureau, José Tavares said that expected results have been produced since 2010 when the cooperation with three civil societies begun to develop sports for all; Sport for All Fitness and Recreation Classes and other relevant activities have all provided more physical exercises opportunities for citizens. This year, the Bureau will maintain close collaborations with the three societies to offer diverse sports activities and venues so that people from different classes in Macao can be a part of Sports for All.
Spreading Fitness Information to Enrich Life
Throughout the year, General Union of Neighborhood Associations of Macao will launch 6 projects consisting of 60 Fitness and Recreation Classes, with predicted participants of 2800; and a square dancing class will be added in the Family and Integrated Community Service Center of Seac Pai Van. Meanwhile, Macao Federation of Trade Unions and the Women's General Association of Macao will make efforts in their capabilities to promote Sports for All by hosting recreation classes and large-scale activities to publicize the importance and attractiveness of sports and enrich citizens' leisure life.
