"Macao Celebrates China's National Day - World Walking Day Fun Run 2016 " , which was organized by the Macao SAR Government, hosted by the Sports Bureau and co-organized by the General Association of Athletics of Macau, was held at the Golden Lotus Square at 8:15 am on 1st October 2016. The Chief Executive of Macao Chui Sai On was invited to officiate the event's kick-off ceremony. The event attracted 18,000 participants.
Iao Kuan Un and Hoi Long crowned in the competition
Finally, Iao Kuan Un won the men's title in 0:08:29; Hoi Long won the women's title for the second time in 0:09:22. The prizes were handed out soon after the end of the competition. The prize presenters included Chui Sai On, the Chief Executive of Macau, Wang Zhimin, the Director of Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, Ye Dabo, the Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in Macao SAR, Wang Wen, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) Macao Garrison Commander, Ho Iat Seng, the President of the Legislative Assembly of Macao and Sam Hou Fai, the President of the Court of Final Appeal.
