Jointly organized by the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau and the Sports Bureau, the “2016 Sports Competition of Public Entities” has lasted for two months in intense atmosphere since May. Winners of different games were announced and the “Energy Award” winner went to the Judiciary Police.
Since 2003, Macao SAR government started to hold the “Sports Competition of Public Entities” with the aim to foster regular exercises habits and team spirit in the public entities staff through sports activities. This event has been well received by them ever since the beginning and attracts a large number of participants. There are 63 participated public entities in this session with over 2,900 people-times. The sports competitions included 7-a-side men’s football, basketball, table tennis, badminton, squash, tennis, bowling, swimming, track & field, dragon boat (Macao Public Entities Small Dragon Boat Race) as well as recreational games and activities.
On the day of competitive sports, staff representing different public entities participated in three recreational and competitive activities, respectively football, basketball and recreational games. Through the activities, the team spirits and friendships among the staff were fully displayed. The competitions were full of tension and excitement and the site was permeated with a pleasant atmosphere.
An awarding ceremony was held after the games. Attending guests included: Pun Weng Kun, President of the Sports Bureau; Leong Sio Feng, Representative and Acting Department Head of Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau; Chau Wai Kuong, Director of Judiciary Police, Lau Cho Un and Lam Lin Kio, Vice-presidents of the Sports Bureau; Loi Kam Wan,Deputy Director of the Correctional Services Bureau;Lou Pak Sang, Deputy Director of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau; Vong Man Hung, Deputy Director of the Environmental Protection Bureau; Wong Iok Chu, Department Head of the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau; Chiang Chao Meng, Department Head of Macao Post; Leong Kit Seong, Functional Head of the Sports Development and Administration of the University of Macau.
The winners of various recreational games and activities are as follows: the male football team from the Division of Hawker Affairs of Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau took the first place of the male football game; team B from Macao Water Supply Company Limited won victory of male basketball game; the University of Macau became the champion of the recreational games and activities.
