Aiming to encourage children and young people to make good use of their leisure time, broaden knowledge and gain experiences outside the school, Macao SAR leaves no effort to offer abundant summer activities for children and youth aged from 4 to 25 in every summer holiday. “2016 Summer Activities”, jointly organized by the Sports Bureau and the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau, have two major categories: sports activities, which are organized by the Sports Bureau, and recreational activities by the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau. This year, more than 400 activities will be held for the Summer Activities and nearly 2,000 classes will be arranged, offering over 50,000 quotas, of which more than 600 quotas are added as compared to last year.
The first stage – application and balloting – finished on 12th May, after which, on-site registration was arranged at Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion from 21st to 24th May. There are 20,263 applicants in total and 38,584 registrations have been completed, the registration rate exceeds 90.4% (including the quotas offered on-site).
