The fourth round of the long-distance running event, “Long-Distance Running League in Celebration of New Year's Eve”, was held on 31 December 2017. A total of 958 participants set off from Macao Stadium at 7:30 p.m. President of the Sports Bureau Pun Weng Kun and president of the General Association of Athletics of Macau Lam Hin Fu hosted the commencement ceremony. Eventually, Ip Seng Tou from men's youth Group A was the first runner who approached the finishing line with a winning time of 12 minutes 39 seconds. Ao Ieong Wai San from women's youth Group A was the fastest runner in the women's category with a winning time of 15 minutes 30 seconds.
In the open group, the Hong Kong athlete U Hin Wa, who has participated in this event for three consecutive years, won over Chan Chong Ip and Kuok Chi Wai for a time of 22 minutes 50 seconds and was crowned the third consecutive champion of the“New Year's Eve Running Race”; Ng Ieong Ieong won the women's open group for the first time with therunning time of 28 minutes 39 seconds. Wong San San and Ng Un Ian won second and third place respectively.
The champion in each group is as follows: U Hin Wa in men's open group, Iao Kuan Un in the middle age group, Lou Wai Un in the youth group, Sio Wai Meng in Master 1, Lam Chak in Master 2, Lai Iu Lam in Master 3, Fong Ion Fai in the senior group, Ip Seng Tou in the youth Group A, Iong Weng Lok in the youth Group B; Ng Ieong Ieong in the women's open group, Ieong Mei Na in the middle age group, Wong Pui San in the youth group, Wong Lin Fong in Master 1, Sam Tang Loi in Master 2, Ao Ieong Wai San in the youth Group A and Wong Un Man in the youth Group B.
