“Sports and recreational activities in celebration of the Chinese New Year – Five-a-side Football Open and Men's and Women's Three-Person Basketball Open”, organized by the Sports Bureau in collaboration with the Macau Football Association and the Macau-China Basketball Association during the Chinese New Year holiday, took place on 25 February at the Sports Ground on Estrada do Canal dos Patos. Tai Cheong and Pui Va won the men's and women's championship in the three-person basketball competition respectively. In the five-a-side football competition, Chon Teng defeated Hong Kei, which is composed of Vietnamese players, by a margin of 2 points, winning the silver trophy.

There were 16 teams participating in the“CNY five-a-side football Open”. Teams, divided into four groups, competed in the preliminary matches. Hong Kei, with their striking performance, successively defeated strong teams such as Macao Youth and Chin Ip Chi, in which local Group A players were involved. Hong Kei broke into the silver trophy final, but then they faced Chon Teng, which was led by Chan Kin Seng, a former shooter from the Macao Football team. Eventually, they could not win the championship as they lost 0:2. Chin Ip Chi, during the silver trophy semi-final, defeated Cheng U and won third place. In the silver plate match, where the losing teams competed, Guia defeated QU and won the championship by a penalty kick, and Macao Youth defeated Va Cheng to became the second runner-up.
