“2018 Macao Taekwondo Championship”, hosted by Macao Taekwondo Association, took place from 14 to 15 April at the Macao Forum, attracting 281 Macao participants. In addition, in order to enhance Macao athletes' activeness and skills, Macao Taekwondo Association also invited a total of 63 athletes from Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Zhuhai to Macao to compete with Macao athletes. Through competition and exchange, they help each other develop in the spirit of sportsmanship. Champions in 126 group-based events such as Poomsae, boxing and speed-breaking were decided in this two-day event.

Furthermore, the new Poomsae category was also introduced in the Championship this year as the new Poomsae routine will be adopted in the final of the Jakarta Asian Games. New Poomsae coaches from Korea National Technical Institute Taekwondo Demonstration Group were also invited to Macao to demonstrate the new Poomsae performance.
