The Cycling General Association of Macau, China dispatched an indoor cycling team to Hong Kong on August 10, to participate in the“2018 UCI Artistic Cycling World Cup / Hong Kong Open”. The UCI Artistic Cycling World Cup was added by the UCI in 2018 as the highest-level championship. The competition held in Hong Kong was the third competition this year. Nearly 100 contestants from Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong China and Macao China competed in this competition.
The competition was held on August 12. After a series of intense contests, the Macao team achieved a brilliant result by winning 5 golds, 5 silvers, and 3 bronzes. In particular, Ho I Teng broke the Macao record with 84.30 points and won the champion title in the women's youth U15 single artistic cycling event. She was followed by Chio Hei Lam who won the second place.
The successful results of the rest of the events are the following: Chiang Ka Ian and Chiang Chi Kio won the second place in the women's children U11 single artistic cycling event. Fan I Cheng won the champion title in the women's youth U13 single artistic cycling event. The pairs Chio Hei Lam / Fan I Cheng and Mok Chi Cheng / Chiang Ka Ian were awarded the champion and the second place respectively in the women's youth U19 single artistic cycling. Chan Iat Tin / Tang Song Hei and Lam Wai Lok / Cheong Iek Meng won the champion and the third place in the men's youth U19 double artistic cycling event.
