The Macao bowling team performed excellently in the “18th Kaohsiung International Open Bowling Championships & Asian Tour – Kaohsiung”, held in Kaohsiung from July 1 to 8. Eventually, Lam Sou Keng won the champion in the women's open category, and Lei Tak Man won the trophy as the champion in the men's category, having defeated strong contestants from Hong Kong, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and Malaysia in the Asian Tour.
Lam Sou Keng, in the women's open event, ranked first with the average score of 218.88 in eight rounds. In the ladder final, Lam Sou Keng eventually defeated Lin Shih-Han, a contestant from Chinese Taipei, with a score of 204, which was 9 points higher, thus winning the championship. She has become the champion once again since the Asian Tour was held in Macao seven years ago. However, during the Asian Tour, Lam Sou Keng lost to Su Shu-Wen from Chinese Taipei by a small margin and thus failed to advance from the first round, although she entered the competition at first rank.
Lei Tak Man, who entered the Asian Tour ranking 13th in the masters' game, overcame many obstacles in the men's group competitions. He defeated the players from Hong Kong and Thailand successively and broke into the semi-final. Subsequently, he scored over 250 in both the Final Four and Grand Final. In the Grand Final, when facing the first runner-up in the open, Shafiq from Malaysia, Lei Tak Man made three strikes in the first four rounds and increased the margin with his opponent up to the sixth round. Lei Tak Man finally won his third individual championship in the Asian Tour with a score of 256:231.
