Signing Letter of Intent with the Winter Sports Management Center of the State Sports General Administration

The Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Winter Sports Management Center of the State Sports General Administration launched a signing ceremony on May 20, in order to support the Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics held in Beijing in 2022 and facilitate the development of winter sports in two places. Pun Weng Kun, President of the Sports Bureau, and Ding Dong, Deputy Executive Director of the Winter Sports Management Center, signed the Letter of Intent, so as to prelude the Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics held in Beijing in 2022.

Pun Weng Kun, President of the Sports Bureau, stated that the signing of the Letter of Intent would strengthen the communication and collaboration in winter sports between two places and it contributed to improving the performance in winter sports. It also enhances the interaction between sports talents, promotes the winter sports events in Macao based on Macao's actual circumstance and deepens residents' understanding of winter sports.

Ni Huizhong, Director of the Winter Sports Management Center of the State Sports General Administration, stated in his speech that this collaboration aimed to promote winter sports events, which was an important step in Macao's development in winter sports. Not only can it stimulate Macao residents' enthusiasm in winter sports, but it can also improve Macao's competitiveness in winter sports, contributing to Macao's overall development in this area and helping with its preparation for competing in the Beijing Winter Olympics.
