The “66th Macao Grand Prix” will take place from November 14 to 17. The Macao Grand Prix Organizing Committee held the press event in the afternoon of May 22 at the Macao Science Centre. Pun Weng Kun, President of the Sports Bureau and Coordinator of the Organizing Committee, Gina Lei, Senior Vice President of Corporate and Community Relations of Suncity Group, Lou Keng Chio, Chairman of the Automobile General Association China-Macau- and Chong Coc Veng, President os Automible General Association China-Macau attended the press event to deliberate the details of the competition.
President Pun Weng Kun stated in his speech that the Macao Grand Prix is currently a brand event with a long history in Macao and it is well embraced by both international and local car racers, visitors and fans of car racing. The organizing committee is gearing up for the organizing work, as it will continuously optimize the facilities concerning the race route to make sure that the participating car racers can compete in a safer environment. The Automobile General Association has been training the personnel who will work for the race route and the event. It has also been providing courses including first-aid training.
President Chong Coc Veng stated that six competitive events were planned in the 66th Macao Grand Prix, including three world-class events – the Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix, the Macau GT Cup and the Macau Guia Race. In addition, the highlights of every year, the Macau Grand Prix Motorcycle-Competition, the Macau Touring Car Cup and Grand Bay Area GT Cup, will involve new car models of greater volumes during the races.
Ticket for the Macao Grand Prix will go on sale from June 3. Prices for the practice days will remain unchanged at MOP50. Prices for the event days ranges from MOP400 to MOP1000. Each person may purchase up to 20 tickets at a time. Holders of a valid Macao student card may purchase tickets for the event at Reservoir Stand at a price of MOP150.
