The Swimming Association of Macau, China sent three diving athletes to participate in the 8th Asian Diving Cup held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from September 6 to 8. Eventually, Choi Sut Kuan, partnering up with her junior members Lei Meng Hin and Tang Hio Fong, won two bronzes in the women's doubles three-meter diving board and mixed doubles three-meter diving board. Having won a bronze in the women's doubles three-meter diving board in Macao“Asian Diving Cup”in 2017, she won another bronze. After the closed intensive team training in summer, Lei Meng Hin won the fourth place with the new move he performed in the women's singles one-meter diving board event.
In addition, Vice President of the Swimming Association of Macau, China and Technical Officer of the Asia Swimming Federation Ng Sio Wan was appointed as the chief adjudicator of the event. Other two Macao international diving adjudicators Cheong Kin Ieng and Lei Sam U were involved in the scoring tasks.
This event was authorized by the Asia Swimming Federation and hosted by the Malaysian Amateur Swimming Association. It attracted teams from China, DPR of Korea, Qatar, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Macao China, Singapore, Uzbek and the hosting country - Malaysia. Over 40 athletes took part in this event. The champions of some events could be qualified to participate in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games Asian Region. Finally, Malaysia, Japan, DPR of Korea and Singapore were awarded the“entry tickets”to the Olympic Games.
