The Guangdong team wins the Cup in Macau
4th Basketball Championship of the Guangdong and Macao, co-organized by the Guangdong Basketball Association and Macau-China Basketball Association, was held on January 9 and 11. Guangdong's team won two consecutive games, winning the overall Guangdong-Macau Cup.
The first round was held in the evening of January 9, at the Tap Seac Stadium. Lead with four experienced players, namely Lo Hip Meng, Sou Wa Chak, Ng Weng Pang e Lam Wai Hou, Macao's home team was equipped with young talents, including Hoi Fong Iam, Ng Kai Fong, Chao Chi Hang, Lei Sio Kai, Lei Chi Pang, Leong Chi Ieong, Nip Chio Wa and Yang Xuan. However, with strong centre players and a three-point attack, Guangdong's team defeated Macao, 99 to 72.
The second round of the tournament was held at Jiangmen Gymnasium on January 11, where Macao's visiting team lost again to Guangdong with 49 to 96. In all, Guangdong's team won the championship.
