The 2010 Macao China International Open Tenpin Bowling Championships and the Asian Bowling Federation Tour (Macao Stage) finally concluded on 4th July 2010. More than 130 male and female athletes from eight countries and regions including the China, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Hong Kong, India and Macao participated in the Asian Bowling Federation Tour, while 1,100 athletes participated in the Macao China International Open Tenpin Bowling Championships, some two-thirds more than last year.
After 11 days of competition at the Bowling Centre in Cotai, Singaporean bowler Remy Ong won the Men’s Open Champion category, with first runner-up Zulmazran Zulkifli of Malaysia, and second runner-up Surasak Manuwong of Thailand. Malaysian bowler Sharon Koh won the Women’s Open Champion category, with first runner-up Putty Armein of Indonesia, and second runner-up Lee Mi-Ryung of Korea.
In terms of the local pool of Macao, Zoe Dias Ma won the Men’s Open Champion category, with first runner-up Lee Tak Man, and second runner-up Choi Io Fai; Lee Ming Sum won the Men’s Division Champion category, with first runner-up Wong Wang Ip, second runner-up Luis Miguel da Silva; Hui Tong won the local pool Women’s Open Champion category, with first runner-up Chan Weng Sam, second runner-up Lam Sou Keng; Women’s Division Champion was Yuen Nga Lai, with first runner-up Ku Sok Va, and second runner-up Chan Weng Hang.
Following the division competitions added in 2009, the Championships introduced the mixed pool in Women and Men’s Open this year, providing more opportunities for a wider range of players from newcomers and youth to senior players to practice their skills and enrich their competitive experience.
