The International Sport for All Association (TAFISA) held the “22nd TAFISA World Congress” from the 10th to the 14th of November, 2011 in Antalya, Turkey. Over 500 scholars, experts and Sport for All workers from 60 countries and regions were invited to the seminar. The Macao Sport Development Board was also invited to send a delegation and attended the conference.
The opening ceremony of the 22nd TAFISA World Congress took place on October, 11th, with several experts in attendance, including the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and the Chairman of the Sport for All Commission of the International Olympic Committee, who gave reports on the topic “Building Bridges in Sport for All”. They also conducted in-depth discussions and shared their experiences with the attendees. In addition, various Sport for All-related conferences and activities also took place during the 5-day seminar, including the TAFISA Executive Committee meeting, the General Assembly, the 20th Anniversary celebrations, workshop activities, the Asian Sport for All Association Executive Committee meeting, the Executive Committee meeting of European Sport for all Network, and the International Women in Sport for All workshop.
The Asian Sport for All Association(ASFAA) actively discussed the events of 2011 and the outlook for 2012 during the Executive Committee meeting. A proposal to hold the “2nd Asian Sport for All Association Training Program” – an initiative to promote the training of Sport for All workers - in Macao in May 2012 was approved. In addition to this, th e “31st Asian Sport for All Association Executive Committee meeting” will also be held this year.
The Vice Minister in charge of the General Administration of Sport and Chairman of the Asian Sport for All Association, Mr. Feng Jianzhong held interviews and exchanges on the functioning of Sport for All with the Macao delegation during their stay in Antalya.
