To further expand the scale of the promotion and development of Sport for All, provide a wide range of services to all sectors and areas of the community, as well as give residents more opportunities to participate in Sport for All activities, the Macao Sport Development Board reached an agreement with the Association of General Union of Residents of Macao, the Macao Federation of Trade Unions and the Women’s General Association of Macao in order to jointly develop Sport for All in Macao. The forms of cooperation include: sponsoring associations to organize sports events, co-organizing Sport for All events, as well as recreational fitness classes.
The signing ceremony was held on December 16th at the multi-function room located on the 5th floor of the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion. The President of the Macao Sport Development Board, Mr. Vong Iao Lek made the following statement at the opening address: “Last year, we reached an agreement with the three associations and the outcome was satisfying. Building on this foundation, we will continuously maintain this close and collaborative relationship, utilizing the advantages and resources of each institution to better combine and allocate the resources of Sport for All, as well as provide many more sports programs that cater to the residents. For example, we will expand the scale of the Sport for All Fitness and Recreational classes so as to provide more choices, adding over 120 courses and more than 3600 places. Moreover, we organized numerous Sports for All events such as the “Family Sports and Recreational Festival” and the “Sport for All and Fitness Promotion Activities”. We hope to offer citizens from different sectors of the community the chance to play and promote sports, bringing the development of Sport for All in Macao into a new era, thereby setting a new milestone”.
