Organized by the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology, the Sport for All Department of the General Administration of Sport and the International Society of Sports Nutrition, the “The 4th International Forum on Sports Nutrition Food of Beijing” was held in Beijing from July 15th to 17th, 2012. Over 30 leading domestic and foreign experts delivered speeches on the hottest topics in the world of sports nutrition and related industries during the event, and also explored in depth and shared their knowledge gained in the field of sports nutrition.
Founded in 2004, the Sports Nutrition Food International Forum hopes – by using an academic forum as an exchange platform - to fully showcase the intelligence and talent of workers in the sports nutrition sector, ignite their enthusiasm and confidence, strengthen exchanges and cooperation, as well as promote the research achievements in the development of sports nutrition food products.
The forum was held under the theme “Establish health and nutrition concept, develop sunny and green sport nutrition industry” and covered topics including sports nutrition food and professional sports, sports nutrition food and Olympic strategy, sports nutrition food in national health and disease prevention, sports nutrition food research and development (R&D), as well as other content related to this industry. A multi-faceted interpretation of the development trends and tendencies in the sports nutrition industry was accomplished through keynote speeches, exchange of papers, industry reports, exhibition of results, and industrial alliances, by more than 400 industry experts, scholars and business representatives who gathered together to build a sports nutrition industry exchange and sharing platform.
So as to understand the latest scientific research and development in the field of sports nutrition food, further enhance scientific knowledge on sport nutrition science, both for competitive sports and Sport for All, as well as help guide athletes and the general public on the proper consumption of sports nutrition food, the Macao Sport Development Board sent staff who work within the relevant fields in the Sports Medicine Centre to Beijing to take part in the above forum in the hopes that they utilize this opportunity to understand the global developments in the field of sports nutrition food, so as to effectively improve their ability to advise Macao athletes on sports nutrition in the future.
