To strengthen the connection, as well as expand exchanges and cooperation between Macao and Fujian in the field of sports, the Macao Sport Development Board and the Fujian Province Sports Bureau signed the “Sports Exchange and Cooperation Letter of Intent”. Represented by Mr. Vong Iao Lek, President of Macao Sport Development Board and Mr. Xu Zhengguo, Chief of the Fujian Province Sports Bureau, the signing ceremony of the letter of intent took place in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province on August 20th.
The signing of this letter of intent will be favorable to the promotion of sports development between both sides and serve the function of promoting the development of competitive sports and Sport for All on both sides. This cooperation agreement will allow sports to comprehensively support the economic and social development of both sides effectively, as well as fulfill the complementary strengths in sharing of resources, training of talents, exchange of information and the comprehensive enhancement of the level of sports in both sides, in order to promote sports as well as the cultural, social and economic development of Macao and Fujian.
Through the signing of the exchange and cooperation letter of intent, it is hoped that both sides will strengthen the cooperation in areas of competitive sports, Sports for All and the sports industry. As Fujian is the training base for many national sports teams, it has many well equipped sports training facilities for Macao youth sports teams to come train and carry out exchanges in the future.
