“The 17th Asian Games” was held in Incheon, South Korea from September 19 to October 4. There were totally 36 sports with 45 participating countries and regions this year.
Macao organized a sports delegation of 208 people, including 135 athletes to take part in 18 sports events: water sports (swimming, diving, synchronized swimming), athletics, badminton, bowling, boxing, canoeing (hydrostatic), cycling (road cycling), fencing, golf, judo, karate, shooting, squash, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, triathlon and wushu (routine, sanshou).
At the Asian Games this year, the sports delegation of Macao, China has earned three silver and four bronze medals: Jia Rui, Li Yi and Huang Junhua respectively won one silver medal for wushu men’s changquan, women’s jianshu & qiangshu all-round and men’s nanquan & nangun all-round events; Cheung Pui Si and Paula Cristina Pereira Carion respectively won one bronze medal for women’s individual kata and women’s kumite +68 kg; Liu Qing and Wang Junnan won respectively one bronze medal for women’s taekwondo -67 kg and women’s +73 kg.
