Jointly organised by the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau and the Macao Sport Development Board, a number of hard-fought 2015 Public Entities Sports Festival competitions have taken place over the last two months since May, with the games successfully concluded on 5th July. The winners of all games have been announced, with the Judiciary Police securing the ‘Energy Award’.
This year’s Public Entities Sports Festival attracted some 60 public entities comprising nearly 2,900 staff members, and featured 10 events including 7-a-side men’s football, basketball, table tennis, badminton, squash, bowling, tennis and swimming, track and field, as well as Dragon Boat (Macao Public Entities Small Dragon Boat Race) alongside recreational games and activities. In particular, the recreational games and activities were held in the afternoon on 5th July at the Olympic Sports Centre, presenting competitive events such as football, basketball and recreational events.
An award ceremony followed immediately after the events, presided over by Mr. Jose Tavares, President of the Macao Sport Development Board; Mr. Raymond Hui, department head of the Public Administration and Civil Service Bureau; Mr. Vong Kuok Chong, Deputy Director-general of the Macao Customs Service; Mr. Tou Sok Sam, Deputy Director of the Judiciary Police; Ms. Loi Kam Wan, Deputy Director of Macao Prison; Mr. Allen Lau, Vice President of the Macao Sport Development Board; Ms. Chan Po Wan, Vice Chairman ofthe Administrative Committee of the Social Security Fund; Mr. Choi Chi Hung, Head of the Department of Cultural Activities and Recreation of IACM; Ms. Iun Pui Iun, department head of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau; Mr. Wong Man Tou, department head of the Marine and Water Bureau; Ms. Leong Siu Ling, Deputy Chief Police Officer at the Public Security Police Force’s Police School; Mr. Kong Iat Fu, Deputy Chief Fire Officer of the Fire Services Bureau; Mr. Leong Kit Seong, Functional Head of the Sports Development and Administration of the University of Macau; and Mr. Wong Keng Long, Administrative Director of the Office of Student Affairs of University of Saint Joseph.
Held in Macao since 2003, the Public Entities Sports Festival has attracted the enthusiastic participation of many local public institution personnel. Through various contests, the Festival seeks to cultivate the habit of exercising, alleviating work pressure and enriching leisure life while building team spirit among. In so doing, they can better serve Macao’s residents, moulding an energetic and healthy society.
