To ensure that the players can be trained continuously, the volleyball associations from Macao and Hong Kong, after discussions, held the Hong Kong – Macao Interport Volleyball Championship once again. In the future, these two regions will keep holding competitions alternatively. This year's competition was held at the indoor stadium of Macao Olympic Centre on 28 April. Both the men's team and women's team dispatched junior members led by the senior leaders. However, regrettably they lost 0:3 to Hong Kong. The coach team of Macao's team believed that players had come to understand their own skill levels and their weaknesses by participating in this interport competition, in order to enhance and develop the players' skills.
In the first match, the Macao men's volleyball team lost to the Hong Kong counterpart with 18:25 , 16:25 and 18:25. Lam Ka Fai, who led the Macao team as a senior member, recognized the young players'potential. He stated that so far there was room for improving players' technical skills and the competition could allow them to experience the pressure as they fought against a team which performed well in both offense and defense. In the women's event, the Macao team lost 12:25, 15:25 and 18:25. Law Weng Sam, who led the team as the head of the team, thought that the team had performed quite well overall, and they could fully learn from their opponents' strengths through competition.
