The “2nd Taolu World Cup”, hosted by the International Wushu Federation and undertaken by the Myanmar Wushu Association, took place from the 14th to 19th of November in Yangon, Myanmar. The Macao Wushu Team dispatched six athletes (both males and females were represented) to compete, winning a gold, two silvers and four bronzes. Huang Jun Hua, who had been a gold-medalist in the Asian Games, continued striving to be competitive and won a gold and a bronze in the individual southern blade and southern cudgel event.
The athletes who were qualified to compete in the Taolu World Cup must have ranked the top eight in the specified events in the World Wushu Championships held last year. This year, the Macao Wushu Team sent six athletes to the competition: Huang Jun Hua, Chio Wai Keong, Cheong Pui Seng, Song Chi Kuan, Li Yi, and Sou Cho Man.
Huang Jun Hua won his gold and bronze with 9.67 points and 9.57 points, in the men's southern blade and southern cudgel, respectively. Li Yi won a silver with 9.45 points in the women's fencing. Li Yi, partnering with Sou Cho Man, won another silver with 9.20 points in the women's combat event. Song Chi Kuan, Chio Wai Keong and Sou Cho Man won another three bronzes for the Macao team in the men's long fist, men's southern fist and women's long fist, respectively.
